One of my kitties is very sick.

Of course its the sweet one, chaos. Couldn't be Momo the prissy or Junior the I-don't-give-a-damn. No. It's chaos. Couldn't be that stupid orange cat who thinks Mo is interested in him and picks fights with every animal. Couldn't even be the raccoons that steal the cats' food.

He got in a fight or something and a wound of his just hasn't healed. It's been a month. Been keeping him inside and last night he suddenly started acting like he couldn't breathe. We took him to the emergency room and they did exrays and charged us 600 bucks to tell us my kitty probably only has 6-9 months to live. He has a heart condition and he had fluid in his lungs. The wound on his paw was completely unrelated.

So we spent all night at the emergency vet while they put him on oxygen and gave him some shots. Then they set us up with a vet down the street and they charged us 60 bucks to look at him again and gave me some meds for him. The regular vet seemed a lot more optimistic about his condition, saying its treatable if the drugs take. But he's going to need an ultrasound so they can decide what sort of treatment to give for his heart. He's on antibiotics for his paw, and a dialetic(?) for the fluid in his lungs.

But apparently God just made his heart too big. I guess that's why he's always been the loveable one, always empathetic and there to cuddle when you needed him. I feel so bad because now he needs help and there's nothing I can do but watch him try to breathe and hope that we can afford whatever it takes to get his heart working right again. If he can make it to the ultrasound. They are supposed to call and let me know when their ultrasound guy will be in. And that won't be cheap either.

Feeling so emotionally drained by this that I doubt I'll be working on arts. but maybe I will. I don't know...

I just don't want my kitty to die...
