Latest MewlingsWho'd of ever figured that the reboot of one beloved franchise could make another one hurt less? But that's exactly what happened. Why? Because Konami did it right.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, ermahgerd. The ending had me staring at the screen, wide eyed and jaw agape. It's been a long time since I've been totally blown away by a game like that and I just can not wait to get my hands on the next one. All the while I was playing it, I was reminded of the fun I had playing DMC. I know its not the classic side scroller sort of fun that the previous titles offered, and nothing will ever replace the classic DMC titles, but it definitely fills the void that Ninja Theory's DmC is going to leave while re-invoking the love I have for the Castlevania games.
And its not just the gameplay. The story is intriguing. It's a solid new beginning that they're gonna be able to build an amazing series on without spitting in the face of the fans that have been with the franchise from the start. This is how you reboot a series. Not by insulting what made it great in the first place.
So I finally got to see the trailer for LoS2 which I'd been avoiding in case of spoilers. I'll just say this: Even though I ain't usually in the habit of wishing time away, I just can't wait for 2013. Between this and Thor 2... well, if the world ends before then, I'll be sorely put out!

Render or Render?
I'm noticing that people are using this word for two different things here, and I'm not sure what to think. I don't want people to think my stuff is something it isn't. My renders are 3d models that I recreated material libraries and shaders for and then created an art from using Blender. I finish them up in Clip Studio or PS. It's time consuming and feels like I have to galaxy brain sometimes to get things to work, but its fun and I usually love the result. However, I see render being used as a term for an image that the bg was cut out of. I've fav'd a number of these thinking the artist created it, when the truth is, they may not be the original artist at all? And that it was never actually 'rendered' in the same way to begin with. Confusion. Anyway, my renders are a tag team effort between me and my computer to make an art out of nodes, numbers and pancakes. These are not cutaways. Is there something else I should be calling them? :shrug:
What Even is this Place Now
I know, it's been like, half a decade since I last posted here. To be honest, I had given up drawing. I got so frustrated at my lack of progress and talent that I called it quits. Saved my doodles for scrap paper and notes. But then, last year while hyper-focused on my newest favorite character, I started to learn how to make renders. With the help of my lil compy, I started to art again. I even got motivated to draw some. I've been mostly active on instagram, but I figure why not start posting here again. At least it will give me somewhere to post this stuff that doesn't horribly compress everything. I wonder who all is still around..

Another day, another lengthy absence from this place. But hey, I actually had an art to submit this time!
Might be I'll have another. Gotta feed this obsession with a certain bespectacled chocobro during the lengthy wait for his episode. Can't have it starving away. If I can manage to stop talking myself out of trying art again, that is.
Then there's this place. What in the world has happened to dA? Used to be screenshots were against ToS. I should know. I had a screenshot deviation of a mod I made get reported so I had to make a 'brochure' image for it instead back in the day. But now straight up unedited screenshots are what I get in sear
